La vie en rose

Taking advantage of the newfound freedom and time we had, Seb and I wanted to spend a few days in Paris before heading to our final European destination.  I was really excited, since I had not done much traveling in Europe and had never been.  It was perfect really — our friends had moved to the city of lights on an overseas assignment last year, and has a gorgeous flat right in the 16th arrondissement with a view of the Arc de Triomphe. One of the perks of corporate life surely =)

I’d heard mixed reviews from people on Paris; how it is at once a beautiful, romantic place but also dirty and overrated.  I went with no expectations, just wanting to soak the vibe in during the 6 days we were going to spend there.  With the exception of seeing our friends and spending time with them, I have to say there wasn’t any one particular aspect of Paris that I loved best, but I enjoyed simply walking around, stopping at a cafe every now and then and taking everything in.  I can’t wait to go back again and explore some more. A bientot, Paris!
